The goal of our program is to provide a safe and productive tackling technique to today's youth and high school football player, as well as teaching coaches so that they can implement it when their season starts. This enables the players and the coaches to learn and apply this latest tackling technique that is being taught and utilized at the NFL, UFL and Division 1 college levels. Participation in our program is open to all boys and girls that play football and want to learn the latest and safest way to properly tackle during practice and game situations. We are based out of Phoenix, Arizona but travel to any location. Our available dates and times will book up extremely fast, so do not hesitate when deciding to book us for your team or organization. |
Thurmond Moore's Tackling Academy is a must for every team at every level of play. Not many youth programs have the availability of a coach that has coached and taught tackling at every level from youth to the pros. Our team has had a reputation of being one of the hardest hitting teams in our league, and Thurmond Moore's Tackling Academy has taken our hard hitting tackling program to a new level. If you have the chance to attend his academy, you are doing your son or your team a disservice by not attending. You will only get better by being at his academy as he teaches tackling from the ground up, in a way that can be both practiced in and out of pads. This is a must for every program! Take Care, Coach Bill, Defensive Coordinator Newport Mesa Seahawks I have been coaching Pop Warner Football for 15 years and had always coached tacking the old fashioned traditional way. The success I had in teaching often depended on the experience of the players I had. My concern was developing confidence in the less experienced players through successful tackles. When I heard about Coach Moore’s academy I was very interested to see if this method would be easier and safer to teach to first year kids. I introduced the mechanics of his tackling method that I learned in a clinic in the first 4 days of camp with my team and had them so excited to hit when we finally got pads on. The highlight of our season was watching the kids progress with their tackling abilities and confidence through the season. We had so many fewer missed tackles compared to previous years and not one tackle related injury. Our most intense practice was our next to last when I pitted players against each other in challenges to show how hard they could hit and how much they learned with this tackling method. I am already looking forward to teaching the progression again this August. Coach John Wirth Saddleback Pop Warner Football Being a first time Pop Warner football coach at the 7 & 8 year old first level, Junior Mighty Might, I needed to teach the fundamentals of tackling. These young players had never tackled before, let alone experience the kind of contact that was awaiting them. Fortunately for my team, we discovered Coach Thurmond Moore and the Tackling Academy. His two day seminar provided us with the knowledge base necessary to teach our kids the basics of tackling. They were an excellent resource that I would recommend to anyone interested in teaching children, or adolescents the basics of contact football with an emphasis on safety. Not only was Coach Moore and his staff very accessible, they were also very patient and willing to answer any questions we had. Having played previously I thought I knew how to tackle, but it isn't always easy to teach others correctly. And that's where the Tackling Academy excels. My team of first year tacklers went 9 - 0, and were consistently one of the better tackling teams in our conference. We also developed confidence in all the players while simultaneously experiencing zero injuries the entire season. We owe it all to the Tackling Academy, Coach Thurmond Moore and his staff.
